Canada Day

Canada Day

A few club members gathered at Jim's home to chat and work stations in the RAC Canada Day contest. Conditions weren't great and only a few stations were worked but we did test out Bill's new IC-7000 radio and a new vertical antenna he recently purchased. Eric brought his new 'Tiny VNA' analyzer and used it to plot out Bill's new antenna. We did an analysis with one and two radials and compared the two graphs. It was interesting to see how the second radial affected the various aspects of the antenna. The analyzer can plot several coefficients including X, Rs, SWR and others.

Jim provided a simple lunch and swim and after enjoying a few hours we returned home to enjoy the rest of Canada Day.
