Eric Purchases a 2m Yagi

Eric (VE7EGK) ventured to Burnaby to purchase a 2m 4 element yagi. He chose the Cushcraft 124WS. His selection was based upon the 10.2 dBd gain, being only 3 feet long and it's ability to be rapidly assembled. Eric plans to purchase a 10m fiberglass portable mast to use with it in the back country. His goals are to do some propagation tests while deep into logging road country.

His first tests at home showed the effectiveness of the gain and the amazing difference the 19dB front to back ratio makes to signal strength. He also replaced the standard bolts and nuts with wing nuts for easy field assembly.
