RCMP, Fire Department Open House

Once again, the club participated in the annual open house sponsored by the White Rock RCMP and Fire Departments on June 8th, 2013. We manned a booth at the event and operated a radio for the public to observe. A number of people and kids came by to ask about amateur radio and how it plays into emergency preparedness. Though band conditions and local noise made contacts difficult, members did make a few and had the opportunity to share the fun of the hobby with others.
