BC QSO Party 2016

BC QSO Party 2016

Club Members joined with other BC Stations to operate in the annual BC QSO Party contest. This year we operated from the Lounge in Centennial Arena and used the permanently installed Windom Antenna. It worked well for our event. We were operating from 8AM through noon mostly on 20 meters split between CW and SSB. We also operated som PSK as an experiment. The band was very quiet for the first couple of hours but picked up as noon approached. In the end we made 46 contacts from across North America. We actually made more contacts than donuts consumed!

Highlights include: Bob brought his portable PSK setup and operated on 20m and succeeded in making a few contacts. Eric tested out his new amplified audio splitter which made hearing the remote stations possible in the room when others were talking. We identified where the RF is getting into the arena's PA system, next will be to install some small toroids.
