Burnaby Radio Flea Market 2007

Burnaby Radio Flea Market 2007

Stuart (VA7CRH) and Ross (VA7NRW) represented the White Rock Club at the Burnaby Amateur Radio Flea Market, held Sunday July 8, in Burnaby.

As pictured, Stuart ended up first in line waiting for the doors to open at 10 am. Inside, the flea market did not seem to have as much stuff as in previous years, but there was enough to keep everyone happy and browsing.Radio Amateurs of Canada was represented, as was Com-West Communications, Icom Canada, and some folk from Abbotsford publicising D-Star for VHF and UHF. The fellow from the D-Star table offered to come out to our club to do a demonstration, as long as we pay for gas. Stuart got a little silly and purchased an Icom 208H dual band UHF/VHF rig for home use. Not pictured was a dual band antenna for 2M/70cm made from copper plumbing tubing. Ross was browsing with Will Hrudey (VA7MDI) and eyeing some of the old equipment on display.

All in all an enjoyable morning, kibitzing with some other amateurs, this time without a radio or a frequency interceding!
