Canada Day 2026 RAC Contest

For this year’s Canada Day contest club members met at the Semiahmoo Fish and Game Club using the same site we used for ARRL Field Day 2026 which proved to be an ideal site. This year there were two active and one experimental station.  One of the two active stations operated using the SSB mode, the other used CW.  The experimental station worked to determine the best configuration for a new portable antenna system.

Conditions on the air were much better than last year which may be attributed to the location.  Over a two-hour period, we logged 23 contacts on the 15- and 20-meter bands.

We enjoyed some fresh air in the sun and decided two hours of radio was enough. We packed our equipment up and drove to Sammy J’s for a late lunch. It had been a pleasant outing, and we all enjoyed the time together.
