Emergency Test

Emergency Test

On Saturday November 14, 2009 club members participated in an on-site emergency path test with formal message handling. Seven club members participated in the practice session. Ralph organized the test and ran net control out of the Centennial Arena. Eric and Jay setup a mobile radio with a collinear antenna at the EOC, they were located at the top of the hose tower. Ken operated at the Semiahmoo High school while Stuart was at White Rock Elementary. Rounding out the team were Jim at the Bosa Towers and Deme at the Kent Street Seniors complex.

Path testing showed that all sites could communicate directly through simplex with good readability. The exercise took around an hour after which everyone joined Ralph at the Arena for a review. It was felt that the exercise was a success and good practice. Everyone felt that we needed to do a similar exercise at least twice a year.
