Field Day 2019

Field Day 2019

Club members were a bit scattered this year. The official event took place at Blackie Spit in Crescent Beach. The normal site on White Rock Beach was blocked by construction. This year, members set up Bill's new Buddipole antenna near the beach and operated in the contest for a few hours. Many stations were heard but few were able to hear our attempts at reaching them. We believe we need more work tuning up Bill's antenna.

Meanwhile Ralph and Eric trekked up the side of Mount Woodside to operate in the clouds at 740m. They used Eric's KX3 and home built OCF antenna. They were more fortunate in being heard. A full report can be found here: https://www.scenicart.ca/content/field-day-woodside

Overall it was a good event for the club members and all enjoyed some fresh air while operating ion the contest.
