Jim at Cabin

Here are some photos of my field day 2012 weekend at the cottage in Ontario.

I set up my camper on my truck & positioned my antenna, a G5RV, in a north/south direction. Hoping to contact the WRARC but unfortunately only south & east contacts were made.

I made 54 QSO's, which included 26 US states, Greece, Ontario & Quebec. The radio worked extremely well once I changed the Anderson Power Pole system to a direct connection with my 12V RV battery. I used my Ontario call sign VE3UVL while operating in Ontario.

The system I have set up works well, takes about 30-60 minutes to erect & get on the air depending on the distance needed to connect to the ends of the 52' wires.
