Prairies QSO Party

Prairies QSO Party

Club members gathered at the Centennial Arena lounge to operate in the second annual prairies QSO party. We arrived at the lounge around 10 to operate, We used Ralph's IC-7000 radio for the event. We also set up Hugh's Wolf River vertical antenna and his radio to see if we could get it on the air. Band conditions were not very good and we were able to work only a couple of prairie stations. We slao managed to hunt a few park activators in the Parks on the air program. Though not overly successful in contacts, we enjoyed the time together. We also learned a few things about the Wolf River antenna system though we were not able to get it operational at this time.
