RAC Winter Contest 2023

RAC Winter Contest 2023

Once again club members met in the Lounge at Centennial Arena for a group activation. This time it was to participate in the annual RAC Winter Contest. This is a great low key contest that takes place at the end of the year. It attracts hams from across the country and the USA. It is a low pressure event and offers a good place for newer operators to get experience in contesting. This year we had four members out to operate for a few hours ion the event. Between the four of us we made 58 contacts from the east coast to Costa Rica and across all of Canada. 21 contacts were made on phone and 37 in CW.  We started on the 20m band, moved to 15m and finished on 10m with the Latin American station. Those that made it out had a good time operating and eating Timbits. Once we had enough of the radio, a couple of us trekked over to the White Spot for a quick meal.

Coffee Meetings

We meet every Sunday at 3pm for coffee and a chance to share our recent adventures with radio technology. We really enjoy meeting new people who are interested in learning about Amateur Radio or even other Hams! Join us this Sunday. We currently meet at the food court in Semiahmoo Mall.

Please join us on our weekly net - every Thursday 7:30pm on the White Rock Repeater
