Rotary Club Annual Bike-a-thon

Rotary Club Annual Bike-a-thon

Club members Ralph and Eric provided radio assistance once again with the annual bike-a-thon. This is a major fund-raiser for the Vancouver Rotary Club and all proceeds are used to help with hearing loss programs in the region. This year was the 30 year for the event and some of our operators have helped since the start. This year over 150 cyclists took part in the 120km ride starting in Brentwood Mall (Burnaby) and ending at the Harrison Resort (Harrison Hot Springs). It was a hot day but no major incidents occurred.

Radio operators are stationed along the course and provide the communications for managing the flow of the ride and ensuring that help is always available should any cyclist require it.
