Tour de White Rock

Tour de White Rock

The annual Tour de White Rock Bicycle Race is an international event that the city hosts each year in July. The course covers a wide section of the city and requires a radio repeater to keep the various stations positioned around the course in communication. The city has a corporate sponsor who provides a commercial UHF repeater and a dozen handhelds, but due to the nature of the terrain prior to club members helping, reliable communication was not happening. Club members reviewed the situation and provided guidance in placement of the repeater. We also loaned a co-linear UHF antenna to the setup and with the repeater at the end of the pier and the high gain antenna, all stations had reliable contact. We have been helping for a number of years now and the city has expressed great appreciation for our assistance. Here are a few photos from this year's event.
