White Rock Emergency Services Open House

White Rock Emergency Services Open House

On Saturday morning, June 9, 2012, members of the White Rock ARC joined Police, Fire and Ambulance emergency services for the city of White Rock at an open house held by the City Hall.  This open house was set up to introduce the residents to what emergency services were available in the city.  The Amateurs provided a grab and go kit (IC706 and Buddipole) showing that they could provide communications independent of power should it become necessary.

Attending for the Club were Ralph, VE7OM, Jay, VE7OFH, Dave, VE7TDG, and Karl, VE7KHC.

While the display was only operating for two hours, between 11 and 13 hours, many families came by and a few stopped in to visit.  Our location was just outside the Fire Hall, and there is no way a four year old is going to be interested in a radio when a bright shiny red fire truck is standing just nearby!

Thanks to Geoff Kehler, VA7GLK, for coming by and taking the pictures accompanying this note.
